Our team's research interests are focused on the following topics:

Computational molecular modeling of aqueous solutions at the interfaces and in nano-pores of inorganic and organic materials, such as clays, cement phases, polymer membranes, and other substrates
Physical chemistry of nuclear waste management, and other problems of environmental materials chemistry
Supercritical fluids and their technological applications
Monte Carlo (MC) and molecular dynamics (MD) computer simulations of fluids and their thermodynamic, structural, spectroscopic, and transport properties
Spectroscopic studies of materials, especially under extreme thermodynamic conditions

Our current research is primarily supported by industrial funding of ANDRA, AREVA, and EDF in the framework of the EMN Industrial Chair "Storage and Management of Radioactive Waste”. We are also involved in other research projects of the Radiochemistry Group at Subatech.

Before that, our research projects were mostly supported by the U.S. Department of Energy, Office of Basic Energy Sciences, Division of Chemical Sciences, Geosciences, and Biosciences (1999-2010), and also by the NSF Science and Technology Center of Advanced Materials for Water Purification (WaterCAMWPS) (2002-2007), and the interdisciplinary Center for Advanced Cement-Based Materials (1998-2005).

Over the years, our research has been highlighted in the local, national, and international news by:
